Workshop Artez studium Generale ‘Chaos & Conflict’ (NL)annelys
As part of the ArtEZ studium generale ‘Chaos & Conflict’, Disarming Design conducted a workshop with art and design students. In this workshop the Palestinian sustainable and ecological space designer Mohammad Saleh and Dutch designer Annelys de Vet explored the social and political urgencies of design in Palestine. Together with them the participants dived into Palestinian life and its current reality, and relate that to design practices. Why is contemporary design important for Palestine? What can design mean for social and political change? And how can that relate to a design practice in the Netherlands? Participants redesigned and recontextualized household objects that they brought themselves.
