MAD Market Brusselsannelys
For the inauguration exhibition of the Mode & Design Museum (MAD) in Brussels, the work of Annelys de Vet is featured. She composed a special MARKET, at the invitation of the curators Walter Bettens, Siegrid Demytteneare and Kurt Vanbelleghem.
MARKET is an artistic and social statement about current urgencies in the design practice, where designers design more contextual and relational. They are not focused on ‘the things in itself’ but on the cycles of things. With MARKET de Vet wants to show what makes a society resilient, and thus, hopes to contribute to a critical awareness of the position of the designer.
Disarming Design from Palestine serves as an example of a committed design practice and the key-project in the MARKET. Every Saturday the MARKET is open for sales, as long as the exhibition runs till 20th August.
