On the invitation of the design collective ‘The Common Affairs’ we were invited to develop a visual column for the Dutch weekly news magazine ‘De Groene Amsterdammer’.
De Groene Amsterdammer: “An everyday reality is by definition no news. But in the case of Palestine, it means that the cultural and geographical consequences of decades-long occupation rarely come to light. Annelys de Vet seeks to offer a different look at the daily reality of Palestinians with the design label Disarming Design from Palestine. They focus on useful products designed by contemporary designers that can tell about the reality that seems to be hard to catch in words. These objects serve as instruments for changing the tone of the discourse about the political reality.”
