REHOGAR, OPEN DESIGN AND RE-USE, BARCELONAannelys
REHOGAR X, Arts Factory and contemporary Art Centre of Barcelona
22 september – 28 october 2018
REHOGAR is a collective exhibition and annual gathering about open design and reuse/upcycling as tools for social transformation, where the use of resources, respect for people and the environment are key issues.
In its tenth edition, REHOGAR displays an ecosystem of practices and objects that foment change in our current habits of production and consumption. They included ‘Old News from Palestine’ by Ahmed Nasser in their show.
REHOGAR presents a range of different proposals in complexity and scale of application, but all have in common that they have been designed to awaken our sensitivity and instigate the change in our ways of living and relating. In its own way, each one opens and strengthens pathways towards greater social and environmental justice.
Real projects with the explicit will to provide everyday solutions, and whose value goes beyond the materiality and application of the exhibited objects. More than 40 projects from around the world that move us away from the mercantilist culture of throwaway, and bring us closer to a collective consciousness based on using, transforming and caring.
