STORY

Maklouba is frequently designated as the Palestinian national dish, and is very popular among Palestinians. The dish includes meat, rice and fried vegetables placed in a pot, which is then flipped upside down when served — hence the name maqlouba, which translates literally as “upside-down”.

Although Maklouba has many different variations, this apron shows what is the one and only recipe for its artist Ayed Arafah.
