This product combines the craft of sand art with the za’atar spice blend that is so prominent in Palestine. It is a tribute to the Palestinian hills, where the wild za’atar grows, and to the people who pick it.

Tastes, smells, plants and food are the anchors of memory, invoking a much wider context. Plants serve as signifiers of the house, village and region from which many hail. This container narrates the scenery by arranging the wild thyme, ground sumac, roasted sesame seeds and a touch of salt together in the shape of the hills. Taste these anchors from this container full of spices.
