STORY

This white or coloured keffiyeh are a contemporary adjustment of an iconic regional scarf. In Palestine, keffiyeh is a gender-neutral chequered black and white scarf, that is often used around the neck or head. The fabric used to make this garment is usually cotton, that provides protection from the heat, dust and sand. Its distinctive standard woven checkerboard pattern may have originated in an ancient Mesopotamian representation of either fishing nets or ears of grain, but the true origin of the pattern remains unknown. It is safe to say that this is a cultural garment, in a land who’s culture became resistance.
